Comments: Glad to see you keeping the ball rollin'. Comin' to Austin to check y'all out. Play on Cape Cod !!!!
Comments: Here's my addition to the wonderful reviews posted. You and your fiddle are as one. I saw you first several years ago with Hotclub at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar. I have been a fan of yours ever since. I have introduced friends to you, have been to several local Ausitn venues to see you and I enjoy your performances every time no matter the name or make-up of the group. I also have caught you on Prairie Home Companion for a couple of your appearances. Your sound and personality translate very well to radio.
With the changes and progress you are undergoing, please do not think that you have to reinvent yourself/your personality. The more 'you' you are, the better. Best wishes for continued success...and I mean that in the way you define success.
Comments: Thoroughly enjoyed your performance at the Gruene Hall tent at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Your talent was evident, but the joy you seemed to derive from performing for your audience was infectious. It was the most fun I had that day!
Comments: Hi Elana,
I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing you for the first time in Salt Lake City at the Nature's Sunshine convention last year. You have the sexiest voice I've ever heard and your playing was so effortless and smooth. You signed a shirt for my oldest son and your CD is a big hit with my 15 and 10 year old. They even have it on their mp3 players and play it to their friends. How many 10 and 15 year old boys have you seduced with your music? You know what I mean; these boys were drawn to your voice just like their 41 year old dad. My 15 year old son Allen is a huge Bob Dylan fan and was very pleased to have you touring with him. We will follow you and your new group, but I'm sad to see the Hot Club of Cowtown end. I hope to see you again.
Love you in Alabama
Edward

Comments: Hi there,
Just a line to thank you for all the great music over the years, (even by chance like when I found you on a Tom Russell CD!) I was lucky enough to catch HCCT 3 times here in the UK, and you where great each time, once you even signed my bald head in a tent at a small gig in a village called Laxfield near my home in Suffolk!! what a top gig that was. All the best and I will be listening out!
John.
Comments: Can't wait for tonight's show with the Elana James Trio at Club Helsinki in Great Barrington. See ya' there!!
Comments: Elana,
Sorry to hear about HCCT ending & will miss the wonderful music you all, oh excuse me, Y'all made. San Diego sure misses you a lot. I cannot wait until the show at the Casbah on 15th & just had a friend call from the Mucky Duck in Houston & she was kind enough to let me listen for a while - it sounds great!!! . I look forward to seeing you again & cannot wait for the new music to come out & to hear the band in person & not through a phone.Take care & please keep at it. Congrats on the Dylan gig as well.
Comments: Hello from another fan in the UK. Sounds like exciting times. My 9 year-old daughter is learning violin so I'll try to bring her to the London concert. We've only got Continental Stomp but we love it. Also looking forward to hearing your new material. Best wishes Bernie
Comments: Saw you all at Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas. Amazing! You all put on such a fun exciting show. All of our friends and relatives that came had a great time. You are are such excellent musicians even if I am Luke's mom.
Comments: Got our tickets for May 10th in London - can't wait !!!!
Comments: Good luck on your road trip. I first saw you with HCCT when you played at Coney Island in Cincinnati with Riders In The Sky. Caught you again in Dayton Ohio at their summer festival and also at the Continental Club while visiting my son at U. of Texas. Since he has graduated and moved to KC, Mo. I wouln't be in Austin anytime soon. Please try to arrange a show in Cincinnati or Dayton, Ohio. Have all your HCCT cd's and love your music.
Comments: My two bandmates have been out to see you a few times in years past with HCCT and raved about the talent and show.I unfortunately have not yet seen your show but would like to know if you plan on any future gigs in Toronto again?
Comments: Saw you at the continental club.... you are a) really talented. And b) really hot. ![]()
Comments: Hi Elana, Myself and my mate saw the Hot Club twice at the Kilkenny 2004 Festival and the three of you blew us away. As we were not fans previously it was a fantastic surprise and the second gig in Bollards Bar was one of the best we ever saw (ever). It was magic and the setting was like having a band playing in your front room at home but with a lot more Guinness and Bushmills. I hope your new band goes well in the future and thank you.
Comments: Geez.. your a fox... I had a friend of mine visit Texas, he went to the Cont. Club where you, Red and Cindy were playin.. he called me on the phone, and left me a message (had my own gig at the time) of ya'll were doin A Smooth one... Of course this spawned a search on the WEB the following day. I'm ordering a bunch of HCOC CDs ... Love your playing.. you swing baby...
Take care Kerry
Comments: Hey Elana, Can't wait to hear the new band! I saw HCOC in Goshen, IN a couple of years ago. You guys were smokin'!! Too bad not too many people around here are into WS. By the way, I'm broadcasting red hot Western Swing from the '30s and '40s on Live365. Believe me, this is the good stuff! Please give it a listen (it's free). Here's the link. http://www.live365.com/stations/hoolster ...Click the link above (or copy it into your browser) to listen! Ralphie
Comments: Howdy Elana-- And greetings from WHRB's Hillbilly at Harvard! I just learned you are playing Great Barrington this month, but disappointed to see you won't be hitting the Boston area (no Johnny D's gig?--call Dana!). As you know, any Saturday morning it's open house for hillbillies, so any time you're in the area, come down and play live on the show. I still treasure the times you and the HCCT were on the show, but it's been a while; at least three years, before Ol' Sinc passed away. For those who may be reading this, Hillbilly at Harvard airs every Saturday from 9am - 1pm Eastern time on WHRB-FM, 95.3, Cambridge, MA. We are also streaming to the whole wide world on the World Wide Web at http://www.whrb.org Wishing you continued success with the new group. Jane and I may be down in the Austin area late March or early April, so maybe we'll get a chance to hear you then. /Cousin Lynn
Comments: I saw your band in Waco. I now live in Phoenix and am tutoring the children of a Korean family. Both children:boy, 7 and girl, 12 are taking violin lessons. I love your work and am introducing many other accomplished artists to these students. What age did you start lessons? Thanks, Matt.
Comments: Elana, I just read your section on your influences and was wondering what your thoughts are on Stephane Grapelli? I am not a musician but have always been amazed at the effortlessness in the way he plays.
Hope to see you in New York at the end of January.
Comments: I am a friend of Beau Sample's dad, Keith. I moved to Texas recently from Las Vegas, NV and discovered your talents at Hondos in Fredericksburg last Friday. WHAT A THRILLING EXPERIENCE. My dad brought me up on Bob Wills, Spade Cooley and the like and I have never heard it live like you guys did it last week! I can't wait until Gruene's on the 28th! See you there. I work at Medina Children's Home and would love to discuss a possible appearance someday.?.? |
