Comments: We're checkin you out, Ms. James! Kx bought your cd and Onie is about to!
xoxo, Kx & O
Comments: Hope you come back to southern California soon. "Coffee Gallery Backstage" features some great fiddlers including Benny Brydern and Evan Marshall, but they lack a "certain something"...
(singing voice... yeah, that's what I meant!)
Comments: We saw you at the capital in Kansas. It was very fun to watch and hear. Thank you for the preformance.
Comments: It's great that you make music available for download, but you've got some files up in AIFF format, which has to be killing your server. You might want to re-encode those as MP3s, which would make them considerably smaller.
Comments: I was really impressed with your afternoon show at Gruene Hall on Saturday. I had my 85 year old dad with me and you really impressed him, too. He played the clarinet in small jazz bands in central Texas for most of my younger years. He played with Johnny Gimble at one time and when you said that Johnny was your hero and mentor Dad just couldn't believe it. Of course they played together some 50 years ago. You certainly learned well from Johnny and probably a lot of other folks. You were awesome on the fiddle and your voice and lyrics were just great. I bought your cd and Dad was thrilled to hear Johnny on it as well as a couple of songs with a clarinet. Thanks for making two old men so happy with your music. I look forward to seeing your show again sometimes soon . G
Comments: Really looking forward to seeing you at Luna come Sat Dec 16. I am also big fans of Luke and Beau as well. I saw them with Carnaval Mystyque(sp?) a couple of times. Also at Luna. I am glad things have been going so well for you lately. It's great to see talented people get some recognition. So often they don't.
See you soon. Andy
Comments: Dear Elana, As always, I ask when will you guys come to Australia??? You made it as far as Japan, why not keep on coming down to oz? By the way how can I get a copy of your 2002 DVD from Japan with the Cowtowners? Thanks anyways for the music. You're an endless source of inspiration!!! We are starting a three piece western swing band here in Canberra Australia, called Dr. StovePipe's HipTonic!!! Cheers, Pablo
Comments: My wife Terry and I enjoyed your band's performance at Suzanna's Kitchen last week 10/19. The audience was very respectful and it allowed everyone to really listen to your songs. I especially enjoyed listening to your cover of Dylan's song "One more night". If you are looking for another Dylan song to perform with your band please consider instrumental version of "All along the watchtower". Take care and be safe. Ron&Terry
Comments: Thanks for the GREAT performance in Lexington, to both Elana & The Continental Two (which totalled 3 that night). Absolutely smokin' on the instruments and vocals. Not to disparage any of the other groups, but you were the highlight of the evening. Keep it up!!!
Comments: Hey Elana, I've seen you twice now. First, opening for Bob Dylan & Willie Nelson in 2004 with the Hot Club of Cowtown. And second in 2006 opening for Bob Dylan again. Loved you both times. When we saw you in 2006 in Lexington KY my friends all agreed that you were the best of the 3 openers even though I personally am a huge Junior Brown and Jimmie Vaughan fan. You really got me dancing. Thanks and keep up the great work. I hope Bob Dylan invites you to open for him again.
Comments: Dear Elana, Thanks for the great performance in Fargo ND last Sat night. Excellent Band, wonderful timing, and the energy! My My. Its been a long long tour and the last night you all looked like your ready for 20 more. I am going to keep my eyes open for you in the future. Mr D. sure puts together a excellent tour and his taste in warm-up bands is as good as it gets. (I thought maybe I was in Austin for a minute). Seeing you in the Official Merchandise stand so close and accessable. Well, I may be old, but I still am bashful! Your very stunning from 300 yards, but in person up close, well, I was like a kid in 4th grade. Y Best of luck in the future, your tallents will all do you well. Thanks again John
Comments: When are you going to get a booking in Tulsa? Also, when you left Hot Club, why did Jake not go with you? His choice or yours? I thought (think) the two of you were extraordinary. a Winfield fan-----
Comments: Wow! What a wonderful show Rochester! You guys have done Bob Dylan proud!!!
Comments: Thanks again for coming up to State College, PA. I'm sorry the weather forced us out of our beautiful new minor league stadium, but we had a wonderful time anyway - hopefully you did too! And thanks for the signed CD. Sincerely, Horst - not horse :-) ps. We have a *huge* arts festival here in State College each July with a couple outdoor venues for music going nearly full-time. Hint, hint, hint...
Comments: Opening a Dylan show with "Oklahoma Hills". What a tribute to both Bob and more so Woody. A truly touching moment and one hell of a show.
Comments: What a wonderful sound. I have ALL of the Hot Club Cds and just ordered Elana's CD. I have been a big fan for years watching every time she palyed at Gruene Hall. Best wishes
Comments: I saw Elena at the Rochester, NY show - they were fabulous! Perfect warmup act (Bob was okay, too!). My friend and I were sitting at a table along the vendors walk when we saw this woman walking a dog - there was an older white haired gentleman with her. They stopped to chat just a short distance away. My friend and I were speculating on how someone got a dog into the concert. Then I said something about the woman's high cheekbones and we were agreeing that yes, she was a fine looking woman, and suddenly it was, Hey! That's Elena James! She was still wearing her stage outfit. Didn't have the heart to bug her though. Later saw her walkin' alone with the dog down on the field along the second base line. Boy, can she fiddle (and sing)! As Mr. Bob once said about about a certain performer, "There ain't nothin' about that girl I don't like." Hope they get back to Rochester. Wouldn't mind if they brought Mr. D. back with them as well. By the way, favorite lyric from BD at the concert: "Yes, I see you got your brand new leopard pill skin box hat."
Comments: AWESOME voice & licks in Dutchess, a shutout performance!
Comments: My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed you and your cohorts last night in Wappinger Falls. Bob Dylan obviously has great taste in opening acts. I look forward to seeing you headlining. Rock on! |
