Elana,
Heard you guys on Hillbilly at Harvard on Saturday and was so impressed that I coaxed my wife and another couple to make the drive down to see your show at the Narrows. You kicked butt!! We all loved the show.
At the break, I had the opportunity to meet you and have you sign the new CD. You were just as nice as can be (and a hottie, too)! I love the new CD and am looking into getting some of your earlier work. You definitely have a new fan.
Thanks, Bob

OMG, my wife and I just happened to be in Great Barrington, Mass. for the weekend and decided to stop in Club Helsinki to spend a Friday evening. We had no idea about Elena James and Her Continental Two. Well, you three blew us out of our seats and into the potato patch across the road. By the end of the show, we were just speechless, wiping the tears from our eyes and going "Holy crap, holy crap!"
Never have I seen such tight, inspired acoustic musicianship. Jimi Hendrix set his guitar on fire, but it would be entirely redundant for Elena James to torch her fiddle, as her fiery attack just burnt the house down. Best fiddle playing I have ever seen, hands down. Whit on guitar and Beau on bass were just as awesome.
Thank you for probably the most memorable live musical performance we have ever witnessed. Seriously, we both had trouble sleeping that night, replaying it all in our minds.

Saw you and the band for the first time @ Gruene Hall this past saturday 3-17-07 and was blown away at the band's talent. I got to speak to you and asked you about coming to Ft. Worth for a gig and you told me that you did not have much of a following in this area. Well, I am gonna try to work on that I know a couple of people that my be able to help you out. I will send them to your web site and I see what we can do.

I’ve been a fan of yours for about a year now, since I discovered your Hot Club of Cowtown cd’s. I had your latest album pre-ordered weeks in advance. We drove down to Gruene Hall to see you in person for the first time last Saturday. I was blown away! Whit’s right, you can play the violin and fiddle at the same time. It’s a rare thing to have the kind of stage presence, talent and showmanship you guys have. You do great covers of classic tunes, but it’s your original songs that really shine. Keep the music coming and we’ll keep buying the CD’s! Oh, and thanks for the photo, that was fun.

Hi Elana,
I had a blast from the past driving home from work the other day in Norfolk, Virginia.  The local public radio disc spinner was telling us about this new album by Elana James, formerly Elana Fremerman, and I thought to myself, "hmmm, that name sounds awfully familiar, could that be the Elana that I knew in college?"   I didn't really know your music then, but I knew you were a musician.  Then he played a song and I thought I recognized your voice.  A few days later the same DJ played another song from the album and now I had a chance to look you up on line and lo-and-behold, it is you!   Sounds like you are doing great!  I'd love to have the chance to see you play.  I'll keep an eye out for any VA gigs.  I'm working my way through residency as an ear nose and throat surgeon and of course it has been a long and windy road since the Barnard days.  Hope to run into you one day.  Take care, Amalia

Dear Elana,
I heard you for the first time on the Radio Free Wease broadcast from South By Southwest. I enjoyed your music very much, and it was especially fun to get to know you a little via the radio. Wease is a trip, isn't he? If you and your band make it to upstate NY in the summer, you might want to check out the Grassroots Festival held in Trumansburg. T'Burg is a small town just outside of Ithaca, and the festival is its claim to fame. Your music would be perfect, and I know you would develop an avid following in the Ithaca area. Perhaps if you come to Rochester.... Anyway best of luck, and I hope great things come from S By SW!

Elana,

Blown away by you and your music evertime I hear or see you.  Enough of that!  We have a great music fest every labor day weekend here in Charlestown, RI.  It's called the Rhythm & Roots Festival.  On a lark, as I see nothing scheduled for that time of year.  Would ya? Could ya? I've seen you in Narragansett, RI at the Towers.  Charlestwon is just the next town to the south.  Check it out at www.rhythmandroots.com . We get a kick-ass line up every year, and you fit that bill!  See you  at the Narrows an 3/31.

Hello Hot Club! Going through some old pics the other day and ran across those I took the first time I ever met you. You were wearing my leather vest and on stage with Johnny Gimble and Freddy Powers. What a hoot. Then Max Booker and I got you hooked up with that biker gang out of Houston and from then it was one success after another. What a pleasure to know you Hope you have a gig near here soon. Cannot travel very far any more.

Love,

Froggy
