Comments: Again, that was a terrific show last night at the high school here in GJ. You're a natural performer and such a tight band! We've been spinning your new CD too. Here's my most recent playlist: http://www.spinitron.com/public/index.php?station=kafm&month=Sep&year=2007&plid=69 Take care. Comments: I bought Beau and his Cave Catt Sammy band mates a beer at one of their gigs in Savannah, Georgia. I don't think they were old enough to buy it themselves. They were an excellent band. I saw Sean Costello and Koko Taylor in town that same night. I enjoyed CCS much more. I'm looking forward to hearing the Elana James band. Great music. Thanks You Tube. Otherwise I may not have heard you. Whit is a knockout guitar player. See you on the road soon. Maybe I'll buy you a beer. Bobby in Bloomington, Indiana
Comments: Elana, Loved seeing you with Redd's band at the Kennedy Center. You stole the show. Next time you sit in you might not want to throw them a bridge. Anyway, good talking to you before the first set. Hope you had a nice holiday at the beach. See you in Richmond. Jim & Krista ![]()
Comments: Elana, you were awsome in Connecticut, I am glad you played for Jim Vicevich!
Comments: Elana, My wife and I were at Jim's House show. All i can say is love your music !!. We are your second biggest fans aside from Jim. Come back real soon or i am going to have to take vacation to Texas!! Dan
Comments: Dear Elana - Thank-you so much for your participation/performance at (Jim's) SOCMF Sat 8/18! Your Cd does not do you justice, and I love the Cd. You signed my Cd jacket, and graciously allowed me to take your picture. You are a class act, and your band mates are also top notch. I thought the story behind your waltz (Eva's?) was a hoot, named for your dog. My image was a song one might have heard in the first class lounge on the Titanic (before the iceberg!). Please do not forsake New England (particularly Mass.) for very long, and do seriously consider putting out a DVD of your live show. I don't see you staying in small clubs for long! All the best, Marty Howe
Comments: Elana: Thank you for playing at the Jim's SOSMF house party. What a memorable evening. Despite the rain, you guys were absolutely wonderful. Can't wait to see you next summer. Scott
Comments: Elana, Great to hear you and Whit at the GLFF. Hot, hot, hot stuff! Also great to hear all those HCOC tunes I love, Emily, Cotton-Eyed Joe, Devlish Mary, etc. etc. what a thrill !! Thanks for coming back, Cap'n
Comments: Elana
You’re super cute. Way to rock the GLFF. Best of luck to you.
Andy
Comments: I'm a little late in emailing you, but we really loved your performance in Santa Fe in July! You had 2 sixty-somethings dancing our hearts out (while the husbands sat and watched fearing possible heart attacks waiting to happen). We bought your CD that evening and have been playing it constantly. Have even emailed the Prairie Home Companion show to tell them they need to have you on! Hope to see you again in Santa Fe or in Minneapolis if you ever make it up here. You and the group are pure delight! Ellie in Minneapolis
Comments: Elana-LOVED listening to you at the Great Lakes Folk Festival. Come back to Michigan SOON!!!!
Comments: Elana, It was a pleasure to meet you at the Great Lakes Folk Festival in East Lansing, MI this weekend. After the first time I heard you, I told all my friends what a wonderful treat they were in for by listening to you and your equally-fine band members--and I also came back for at least two more of your performances over the weekend. You may not remember, but I was the one that came up to you after your performance at the MAC stage on Saturday and I told you that I was a classically-trained violinist who was starting to experiment with different fiddling styles (great grandfather was an old-time fiddler--and I was honored to inherit his fiddle), and you kindly gave me encouragement (even in your autograph!). I'm loving the CD and look forward to your next trip to our neck of the woods! --Tamara Lansing, MI

Comments: Elana: I was surprised to see you at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn (Chicago) tonight since the show had not been announced when I was at the American Music Festival at the beginning of July. Luckily, I regularly check Fitzgerald's web site and saw that your name had been added to the schedule. Might explain why the crowd was nowhere near what you and Whit have drawn with Hot Club. Again, I thank you for injecting so much pure joy into your music, and I can assure you that it rubs off on those who listen to it. Your shows are alway excellent, and the one tonight was no exception It was the first chance I've had to see Beau Sample, and I was definitely impressed. I was fortunate enough to tell you in person tonight (and had you autograph CDs to my three sisters), but thank you...thank you...thank you. You've made a number of lifelong fans among my friends and family. And as for me, there is no music or artist that makes me happier. See you at the Old Town School in October!
Comments: Hi Elana: I was watching WGN News at noon today 8/8/07 And must tell you that you are the best I have seen, and the first artist I have been interested enough in to look you up on the Internet and even watch and listen to you play again and again this evening. After that I went to CD baby and purchased your CD and think I am going to go back and purchase one more for a friend of mine who just got a new car... A car warming gift (smile)Your band is great and you are very talented, beautiful and energetic good luck in your career. Licia M Chicago
Comments: I love your music, thanks for sharing the gift! tom
Comments: Hi Elana, I just wanted to say again how much I enjoyed your playing at Stubb's on Friday! I was so very impressed and delighted to hear such fabulous Western swing music. Thank you for being so generous with your time to talk to me. You are such an sweet person... It comes across indefinitely in your playing and stage presence. Whit and Beau were also very kind. I'm so happy to have met you. I will look forward to more gigs in the future. You and your band have a new biggest fan!!! ![]() See you at the Continental, Sarah G.
Comments: Sweetie, thank you so much for playing the Save Town Lake gig in Austin. "That gal's playin' the horsehair right off-a her fiddlestick!" You are so beautiful. Amor Y besos, Damun Austin, Texas
Comments: Hey Elana, such a perfect night in Santa Fe on the Plaza with your music pouring off the stage. I still get goose bumps thinking about it! The three of you put out a huge sound, didn't even miss drums and you have the Bob Wills thing nailed! Great rock-a-billy, too! Hope to see you again, Rick (St Paul, Mn.)
Comments: Elana, I saw you at the Santa Fe brewing company and the plaza in Santa Fe. I still can't stop smiling when I hear your music! Love your style, and my wife Mona does too. She now wishes she could have been there. When you get to Washington DC we'll be there to enjoy your music. Hope you manage to do a duet with Syd Masters as I thought your voices would be a perfect match. I'll check your site from time to time for all your updates. God bless you and the best wishes for your future! ERIC
Comments: hi i heard "goodbye liza jane" on the midnight special {npr} it sounded great. when are you ever going to play in the southeast? thanks for the smiles jeff
Comments: Elana, You have officially become the "pin up girl" for the D8 Ranch in Amador County California. Us boys here simply adore you. Seem we can't get enough of you. Some of us have been talking about maybe hiring on to a ranch in Texas so we could see more of you. Please come back to Northern CA as often as you can. One of the boys was lucky enough to see you in Willows and he hasn't been the same since. Love struck we think. Love, Doc
Comments: Saw you perform in the barn at Prairie Pines in Wichita, Kansas. You were awesome! Bought your new CD - love it! Very refreshing, beautiful music. We have got to get you to the bluegrass festival in Winfield. Did you really used to wrangle horses? You are so versatile.
Comments: Hey, Elana, Do you know the specifics of when you'll be playing in East Lansing at the Folk Festival? We have family in that area and may make the trip up from Ohio, but wondered what time of day to head over to Lansing. I checked the festival website not long ago and no schedule was posted. Thanks! When ya comin back to Ohio??? Jill
Comments: Hello Elana, Brian
Comments: We were at the American Music Festival At Fitzgerald's, too. It was so nice to see you playing in the Chicago area again. The only problem was that the one set schedule left me wanting so much more! Of course, I love to see you playing with Hot Club, since I've been a big fan for years. But I am very impressed with your solo album and your own compositions on the disc. You never cease to impress me. Looking forward to seeing you at the Old Town School in October. It's an interesting venue...acoustically wonderful, very attentive audience--but is generally a "you can hear a pin drop" quiet during the performances. Thanks again for all the joy your music (as well as Whit's and Jake's) has brought into my life. Almost without fail, your CDs bring a smile to my face--and that is quite a gift.
Comments: Hey Elana, Just got home from seeing you & HCOC @ Fitzgeralds! What a great show!! Thanks sooo.. much!! Really cool that you folks had Bill Kirchen come up and play w/ you and vise versa!! Glad that you and the guys will be stopping back here in town for a couple of more shows soon. They won't be missed, no doubt!! ![]() |
