My wife and I were the young couple (the youngest ones there, of course) who talked to you and Whit in the hallway and mentioned that we saw you at Wichita in June. We also have seen you in your Hot Club days at the Cain's in Tulsa as well as the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper Club near Wichita and the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival in Winfield. We're avid followers of your music, and I was able to get my 60-year-old parents to attend. They left the Coffeyville concert as age 40. That's how your music affects people. I was in the third row but may as well have been on stage as far as the connection went. I hope you enjoy your tour this morning. Comments: I bought Beau and his Cave Catt Sammy band mates a beer at one of their gigs in Savannah, Georgia. I don't think they were old enough to buy it themselves. They were an excellent band. I saw Sean Costello and Koko Taylor in town that same night. I enjoyed CCS much more. I'm looking forward to hearing the Elana James band. Great music. Thanks You Tube. You signed my Cd jacket, and graciously allowed me to take your picture. You are a class act, and your band mates are also top notch. I thought the story behind your waltz (Eva's?) was a hoot, named for your dog. My image was a song one might have heard in the first class lounge on the Titanic (before the iceberg!). Please do not forsake New England (particularly Mass.) for very long, and do seriously consider putting out a DVD of your live show. I don't see you staying in small clubs for long! Comments: I'm a little late in emailing you, but we really loved your performance in Santa Fe in July! You had 2 sixty-somethings dancing our hearts out (while the husbands sat and watched fearing possible heart attacks waiting to happen). We bought your CD that evening and have been playing it constantly. Have even emailed the Prairie Home Companion show to tell them they need to have you on! Comments: Elana, It was a pleasure to meet you at the Great Lakes Folk Festival in East Lansing, MI this weekend. After the first time I heard you, I told all my friends what a wonderful treat they were in for by listening to you and your equally-fine band members--and I also came back for at least two more of your performances over the weekend. You may not remember, but I was the one that came up to you after your performance at the MAC stage on Saturday and I told you that I was a classically-trained violinist who was starting to experiment with different fiddling styles (great grandfather was an old-time fiddler--and I was honored to inherit his fiddle), and you kindly gave me encouragement (even in your autograph!). I'm loving the CD and look forward to your next trip to our neck of the woods! --Tamara Lansing, MI

Comments: Elana: I was surprised to see you at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn (Chicago) tonight since the show had not been announced when I was at the American Music Festival at the beginning of July. Luckily, I regularly check Fitzgerald's web site and saw that your name had been added to the schedule. Might explain why the crowd was nowhere near what you and Whit have drawn with Hot Club. Again, I thank you for injecting so much pure joy into your music, and I can assure you that it rubs off on those who listen to it. Your shows are alway excellent, and the one tonight was no exception It was the first chance I've had to see Beau Sample, and I was definitely impressed. I was fortunate enough to tell you in person tonight (and had you autograph CDs to my three sisters), but thank you...thank you...thank you. You've made a number of lifelong fans among my friends and family. And as for me, there is no music or artist that makes me happier. See you at the Old Town School in October!
