Comments: Elana,
We here that you have let Hot Club. We would love for you to find your way back to Winfield sometime in the near future if possible. You were missed this year.
God Bless The Wright Family
Comments: Hi, Elana!
Ok, I just need to tell you that you broke my little fiddle man's heart by not appearing in Winfield, KS, at the Walnut Valley Festival this year! The "little fiddle man" I am referring to is my 15-year-old son, Chase Foster. I don't know if you remember him, but you all have met on several occasions...He played at the Legends of Western Swing Festival in Dripping Springs this year and several other places you and the guys were at. He just adores you, Elana! Just so happens, at this year's Winfield Bluegrass Festival, Chase ended up performing with Tommy Emmanuel in 2 shows--IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Chase sang jazz tunes and played fiddle with Tommy! Chase was asked to open for Tommy in Oklahoma next spring!! A few weeks later, Chase got asked to play fiddle for Hank Thompson, because his fiddle player came up sick! What an honor! Then, Chase shared the stage with Charlie Daniels for the 4th time! It has been an amazing year for Chase!
Anyway, I would love for Chase to play some tunes with you in the future. If you ever think you would have time to jam with him during one of your Austin performances, please, let me know...We live in Kansas, but we like to make trips to Texas alot. He would be honored to jam with you and do some swing or jazz numbers! Thanks for all your inspiration and great music! You are SPECTACULAR!
Respectfully, Toma Foster (aka Chase's Mom)
Comments: Elana, While I was sad to hear that HCCT had disbanded I was thrilled to hear that you had formed another great group with Cindy, Red and Jake. Best of luck. May I suggest (or even beg) that you all make plans to play Fort Worth way. Lots of fans north of Austin at places like Sons of Hermann in Dallas, or Pearl's Dancehall and Saloon and the White Elephant in the Stockyards. Lookin' forward to sayin' hi at Cuvie's party. I also want to mention that there will be a Reunion with Tom Morrell and all the Timewarp Tophands to honor Tom at the Longhorn Saloon in the FW Stockyards on November 13th which begins at 6pm. Sure would like to see all of you if you're available. In the meantime, keep swingin' and puttin' out that great music. Cathi
Comments: Elana - You made my amp sound great at Ginny's! My amp talked about you all the way home.
You're amazing!

Comments: Elana, When you coming back to Europe again with a band HotClub or otherwise ? Mick
Comments: Please come to play in Indianapolis. We have a wonderful music scene here, and I will make sure that all my music-loving poet friends come. My 2002 collection of poems set in Indiana, The Country I Come From, took it's title from "With God on Our Side" and includes a poem I wrote in 1971, one of my first: "Song for Bob Dylan" was reprinted in Ben Hedin's recent Studio A: The Bob Dylan Reader, a book you would enjoy. My son, daughter (both violinists), and I enjoyed seeing you play in Chicago with BD and Band and MH in early April.

Comments: I very much enjoyed listening to the High-Flyers via PHC online this morning, Oct. 5, 2005. I immediately went to Amazon.com and your website but was not able to determine how I might purchase a CD of your music. Please advise... as I the upbeat tempo of your music can get my day going. John
Comments: I heard you on PHC yesterday. I didn't catch the whole thing and want to hear more. Tried to get something off the net but all I get is loads of text. Tell me how to hear more on my Mac, Please. Fabulous band. Let me know if you'll be anywhere near Philladelphia. RIch
Comments: ELANA,

Comments: Elana,
I grew up in Kansas, moved to NYC after college (and loved it there), but now live in Boise, Idaho of all places. I was driving through town last Saturday, turned on the radio and happened upon GK at the Kansas State Fair in Hutch (20 miles from where I grew up). I tuned in just in time to hear you sing Sunflower. For the next few minutes I was back in Kansas, and it felt great. Thank you!
Richard
Comments: When are you and your band(s) coming back to Dallas?? Very soon I hope
Comments: Elana: My wife, Randee, and I loved your music and performance with Garrison Keillor and the other performers at the Kansas State Fair at Hutchinson Saturday, 9/10/05. Although neither of us knew about you prior to the performance, we, now, will certainly follow your career. You helped make the show a most treasured performance for us.
Thank you! And when will you be performing again in central Kansas?
Larry Loomis
Comments: Well, i'm going to add to the campaign - please, please play at the Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan!
Comments: Elana,
I was at the Kansas State Fair and had the pleasure of hearing your performances. I grew up in West Texas, and was "forced" to listen to my Dad's music.....Bob Wills, Hoyle Nix, etc. when all I wanted to listen to was the music of the era, 60's and 70's rock. Leaving for college, I finally appreciated the uniqueness of western swing and It's been a personal favorite ever since. Thanks for keeping it alive and kicking!
Comments: Elana, I am listening to you on "Prairie Companion" as I type. What a treat. When I found out you would not be at Strawberry this year I was so disappointed, but am pleased to have found you here. I live in the SF bay area about two miles from one of the best venues around, Sweetwater's in Mill Valley. I sincerely hope it will not be long until you make a Left Coast Tour. I look forward to that time, and will drive almost anywhere, even at $3.00 a gallon for gas, to see you and the new group. Much luck with this new endeavor. Jeff
Comments: Hi Elana, I heard you for the first time last nite at the Kansas State Fair/Prairie Home Companion concert. I love your sound and applaud your fiddle playing. Hope to be able to hear you again soon
Dave
Comments: Elana, You are the hottest swing fiddler of the 21st Century! The Hot Club of Cowtown was the missing link, for me, between Grappelli, Wills, and the modern world. I hope you and your new band find yourselves back in Arizona (I missed the Hot Club performance in Cave Creek unfortunately ), soon. Thanks for the great music.
Comments: Thanks for the email and the connection to your new website. It makes for great reading but also makes me yearn for more of your music. Do you have any plans to come to California--San Jose area? Your last concert here in Redwood City was way over the top--so great! Then to hear Hot Club was on its way out was almost physically, unbearably painful. Long live Hot Club. No other Hot Club bands come even close to Hot Club of Cowtown. Oh well, all good things must come to an end. I'm looking forward to hearing you on Praire Home Companion.
Comments: When are you coming to New York City?
Comments: Hi Elana;
Comments: Goodmorning Elana, Lovely to see your new website and thanks for keeping in touch. Please come back to England soon, especially Bristol and Cheltenham - we are getting withdrawal symptoms here!!! How is Eva? Hope she is behaving. Keep on swinging!! Love Sandra and Frank x
Comments: Hey Elana and Jake,
I miss you folks.
Can't wait to hear your new gig. I'm sure it's a fabulous sound.
See you soon. Take care.
Comments: Hi Elana, I really like your new website...just bought an album on Amazon...Cowtown. Enjoyed you at Blossom this past June and will look forward to hearing you on Prairie Home Companion in September. If you are ever in shouting distance of Cleveland Ohio again we will be sure to be there! Phil
Comments: I've been watch'n Redd for about 3 years now, and caught you at one of the Haybale gigs. You didn't do much, but then just a few weeks ago I stopped in at Threadgills to check out Redd and got to see you at work! I like your old style of singin' and playing. PS. Almost didn't recognize you with the dark tan.
Comments: Hi, Elana,
Cool website! We can't wait to hear the new band. Any gigs planned for California? Strawberry in the spring, maybe? We're looking for a band for our annual late summer party (you played the first one in 1997). This year it's Saturday, September 17th. Maybe we'll get the Golden Hill Ramblers. (Second choice)
Much happiness!
Rick and Dorothy
Comments: hi Elana, I want to start celebrating my birthday tomorrow night (it is 8/8) at the Saxon Pub, your schedule shows you will be there at 8pm, but the Saxon says someone else is playing. Can you verify the schedule for me? thanks karen |
