Comments: Elana, noticed you and compadres are in Nashville 4/26/22, and wanted to make you aware of our Georgia String Band Festival, just down the road, that weekend. We honor our local pioneer recording stars The Georgia Yellow Hammers, Andrew and Jim Baxter and notably, The Nichols Brothers, whose "She's Killing Me" HCOC so brilliantly covered. Friday night kickoff, with some of our very best OT players bringing our real-roots American music to life, then The Gordon County Fiddlers' Convention (est. 1924) on Saturday, noon till, in historic downtown Calhoun, Georgia, halfway between Chattanooga and Atlanta, on I-75. Come immerse yourselves in even more great tuneage to cover! Lotsa fun. Here is my piece that describes our festival, and some of our rich history:"https://calhounmagazine-cnhi.newsmemory.com/" Also, our Facebook Page: "https://www.facebook.com/georgiastringbandfestival/" Y'all Come!
Comments: Elana, Are ye, HCCT, planning a Los Angeles date soon? I remember talking with you at your last appearance at McCabe’s. I attended all of your shows at McCabe’s and Boulevard Music. Dearest Lady, I do yearn for more…
Comments: Dear Elena and Hotclub, on Tuesday night my husband and I came to see you at the City Winery in Chicago, and we are so glad we did. It’s been so long since we’ve been anywhere fun. I have to say we had the best time and you all were better than ever!! I found myself just grinning from the happy music you play. Could have sat there all night.
Comments: I just learned the band was live on FB yesterday. Maybe next time...Glad to see you're keeping at it.
Comments: Hi Elana, My name is Kate and you played at my wedding in San Antonio in June of 2002. We are still married :) and I still hear about how great the band was at our wedding. I'm writing you because our 14 year daughter, who grew up listening to your music (Favorite = Ida Red), is now wanting to learn to Fiddle. She is a great little violin player already and is teaching herself to play fiddle tunes. Would you be willing to offer her some advice on getting started? Thanks so much and hope to catch a live show soon!
Comments: Can’t wait yo see you again elana and introduce you to my fiancé jane benson Jim vicevich formerly of WTIC radio. Now hosting a podcast called Radioviceonline. Get it ? Radio vice online. Lol We have one more music festival in mind to raise money for our new lupus treatment center. Hope we can book you.
Comments: I received my copy of Eva’s Road Diary the other day. What a hoot! Thanks for doing this. I’m looking forward to an online concert with the whole band. Is that possible? Have a paywall or even just an online tip jar. There are a lot of us out here who would gladly contribute! One more thing . . . I’ve been listening to my Jimmie Lunceford CDs lately, and it occurred to me that there are a number of his songs that would translate well to the HCCT style on the jazz side. Thanks for doing what you do, and stay safe!
Comments: I admire you and your groups work. Is there any possiblr way that your schedule would allow an appearance at The 50th Bob Wills days ? I know it would be fantastic. With love and respect Andrew
Comments: I happened to hear HCOC on Mountain Stage and was immediately intrigued. When my girlfriend Margaret asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I mentioned HCOC. Low and behold, on my birthday I received three CDs that came with a personal note from you thanking Margaret for her “support during this challenging time.” Heck, I want to thank you for your support! Dancing around the kitchen to your music may not make the pandemic go away, but it sure takes my mind off it for a little while. Thanks so much.
Comments: Love your music. Why aren't you viewable in https://austin.eventful.com/events. I can see a lot of performers in Austin, but you do not show up. Bandsintown, on the other hand [https://www.bandsintown.com/] tells me about your whereabouts and landings in the Austin area. I think eventful.com is better known.
Comments: Elana, great show as always at the Dakota, but in my ideal "Hot Club" world you'd be on your own as opposed to sharing the stage. Delighted you chose "My Dreams Are Getting Better..."as opposed to "Sentimental Journey" which everyone thinks of first in reference to Doris Day. I've got a vinyl interview with Les Brown, her band leader, who indicates she really wasn't keen on the tune, regarding it as "silly." Actually cried about it, but once it hit the charts her views changed. It followed soon after: Sentimental..." Looking forward to your return to the State of Hockey in 2020. Perhaps back at the State Fair? Roger
Comments: MORE MORE MORE SOLO ALBUMS,PLEASE ! What a seductive Billie Holliday-ish voice you have. As a previous classically trained violinist I probably appreciate your instrumental prowess more than most of your fans
Comments: LOVED your show in Evanston at SPACE. SOOOOO GREAT!!! Saw you and the band last time you played there too. A truly joyous and wonderful evening of music. Thank you so much!! And we look forward to seeing you again next time you play in the Chicago area.
Comments: Hi Elana, I've seen Hot Club of Cow Town in a few concerts around Carmel and Monterey, CA, where I live. Inspired by your fiddling (and by others such as Brynne Albanese), I've taken up the fiddle, at age 65. A little late to get in the game, but fun and rewarding (and more than a little humbling). I look forward to attending your next concert in this area. Thank you for your wonderful music.
Comments: We saw you perform last night as part of the Dustbowl Revival in Escondido, CA. Thoroughly enjoyed the show. We first saw the Hot Club years ago in San Diego at the Casbah and have been a fan ever since. Sorry you won't be performing in Austin when we visit this April. All the best to you and your super Trio.
Comments: Saw you last night in Kirkland, WA with Dustbowl Revival. I used to drive Zach Lupitin to elementary school in the carpool with my daughter. This was in Evanston, Illinois. So proud of him and happy he introduced me to Hot Club.
Comments: Huge fan!! I have your instructional DVD and I frequently watch your videos on Western Swing Rules YouTube channel as well. My grandfather played fiddle and mandolin as a touring musician throughout the 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's. Ray Price, Johnny Gimble, Burt Rivera, George Jones, Jimmy Heap & The Melody Masters were some of the acts he played with throughout the years. Thanks for all you're doing to keep western swing going strong! God bless!
Comments: Aloha, Come out to MAUI please. See the MACC. |
